People come in different shapes and sizes; just as you choose the right clothes for your body type, it is important to choose proper frames to complement your face shape.

OPSM's Total Image Framing® makes finding frames easy by allowing you to determine whether your face is predominately heart-shaped, oval or square. Which face shape are you and which frames suit you best?

1. Heart-shaped

Characteristics: wide upper face or forehead with high cheekbones and a definite taper towards the chin. The heart shape is a more feminine designation and is not used to describe a man's face shape.
Looks like: Justin Timberlake, Victoria Beckham, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashley Judd, Naomi Campbell
Try: thin simple designs, either round or rectangular, which are a little wider to complement your eyes. Frames with emphasis on the lower, outer corners will help broaden the chin.
Avoid: frames wider than your temples or those with an exaggerated upward and outward sweep. These will accentuate a broad forehead and emphasise a narrow chin.

2. Oval

Characteristics: generally well proportioned and balanced, the forehead is only slightly wider than the chin and the jaw tapers evenly with no squareness.
Looks like: Will Smith, Uma Thurman, Wentworth Miller, Elle MacPherson, Tyra Banks, Jude Law, Owen Wilson
Try: rectangular frames with soft edges to complement your features. Preserve the natural balance of your shape with frames proportionate to your features and size.
Avoid: glasses that are too small, too large or too angular as they look unbalanced.

3. Square

Characteristics: forehead, cheekbones and jaw tend to be about the same width, with quite a dominant jaw.
Looks like: Katie Holmes, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock, Charlie Sheen, Demi Moore
Try: small oval glasses to soften the jaw line. Semi-rimless are ideal as they will soften square facial features.
Avoid: frames that are too square, too angular or droopy-shaped as they will exaggerate the squareness of a face.

4. Round

Characteristics: tend to have a slightly wider forehead than chin with a roundness of the jaw.
Looks like: Elton John, Jack Black, Kate Winslet, Christina Ricci, Drew Barrymore
Try: more rectangular and angular shapes as this will draw attention to your eyes and the top half of your face. These shapes will also reduce the roundness of your face.
Avoid: round frames, as they will exaggerate the roundness. Eyewear should contrast, not mimic, your face shape.

Visit the friendly and professional staff at an OPSM store near you to find the ideal frames for your face and the ones that best suit your lifestyle.
